StackTools Menu is a collection of HyperTalk handlers which provide a variety of useful authoring and scripting utilities for HyperCard stack developers. These handlers run transparently in the background and are accessed from the “StackTools” menu, a custom menu which is added to the menu bar. The StackTools menu contains 15 submenus, each of which accesses a particular utility or group of related utilities. The StackTools menu is installed in the menu bar by clicking on a button, and may be removed at any time.
The primary StackTools handlers are contained in the stack scripts of four stacks. These stacks are put “in use” when the menu is installed in the menu bar, adding their handlers to the HyperCard message-passing hierarchy. Additional specialty handlers are contained in the stack scripts of two other stacks which are put “in use” only when access to their handlers is required. The StackTools stacks contain all necessary resources and handlers for the StackTools menu. You do not need to add any resources or handlers to your home stack.
BEFORE USING STACKTOOLS MENU:
1) Make sure you are using HyperCard version 2.0v2 or later.
2) Make sure you have at least 1,500K memory available for the HyperCard application. If you are using MultiFinder, allocate a partition of at least 1,500K to the HyperCard application.
3) Remove any previous versions of StackTools Menu. You will also need to update any "StackTools Menu" buttons you may have copied to your stacks by replacing them with the StackTools Menu button from the version 1.1 "StackTools Installer" stack.
4) Make sure that you have the following stacks together in a folder named "StackTools Menu Stacks" and that these stacks are available to HyperCard:
StackTools Menu Help
StackTools1
StackTools2
StackTools3
StackTools4
StackTools5
StackTools6

In addition to the stacks listed above, you will also need the stack "StackTools Installer". This stack does not need to be kept in the "StackTools Menu Stacks" folder.
